mainframe and PC applications, and assisting

Current projects include: coordinating corporate
communications with the Vice President of Human
Resources for the Transamerica corporate
initiative to migrate from HRMS to Peoplesoft;
coordinating, preparing and executing test plans
for the migration of DBS financials from a
mainframe to a Hewlett Packard UNIX environment
(Open Millennium).
Major Accomplishments:
- Re-designed, developed, distributed,
and support a self-executing budget model for
1996 expenses. The model was distributed to 17
branch locations and 7 Corporate staff
departments in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K.
- Automated employee performance appraisals
within Microsoft Word.
- Coordinated design and implementation of
Micro-Control Headquarters site.

users in the Chicagoland area; coordinating PC
and network services with Business Support

ensuring adherence to hardware and software
purchasing standards. Managed a staff of 5.
Major Accomplishments:
- Coordinated purchase, installation and
training of computer hardware/software for 5
different Corporate departments.
- Researched, evaluated, and recommended
help-desk software for installation of a
corporate-wide help-desk. - Researched and
resolved backlogged user requests in the Chicago
office (125 users).

Supervised a staff of 18 which included the data
entry function. Experience includes
implementation of General Ledger and Accounts
Payable, supervision of general ledger
operations, training, and security management.
Major Accomplishments:
- Automated the data entry function resulting
in the elimination of 12 positions and producing
an annual cost savings of $135,000.
- Designed, prepared and presented interactive
hands-on training classes utilizing overhead
mainframe displays, networked PCs, and handouts
for 40 people. Follow-up sessions have been
presented on an as-needed basis.
- Designed, implemented and maintained
multi-tiered Millennium security which allows for
segregated journal entry and approval levels.
This has eliminated suspense items over 30 days
old.
- Introduced on-line report viewing and PC Link
data downloads, thereby reducing paper and
microfiche production by 75% resulting in annual
savings of $50,000.
- Assisted with the design and development of a
self-executing budget model utilized by Home
Office and field personnel.
- Evaluated, championed and implemented the
Unitech ACR/Detail reconciliation package,
currently being utilized for check and draft
reconciliations.
- Prepared a user manual for mainframe and
network applications.
- Assisted with the design and implementation of
a 100 node Novell local area network.
- Developed procedures to allow tracking of ad
hoc tasks.

M:Series General Ledger module (version 2.03).
