August 1996 thru Present - ABN AMRO
Bank Working
as a Consultant on Unitech Systems software for
Van Duyn Associates. Implementing Unitech into
financial applications such as General Ledger and
ATM. Directed numerous projects with the Finance
groups at the bank in providing Information
Integrity Controls. Demonstrated the ability to
manage projects as an Independent contractor by
coordinating and developing the finance projects
conversion into the mainframe systems.
1987 thru 1996 - NABISCO
INC. Wilkes-Barre, PA; Senior Analyst (1993 - 1996);
Responsible for implementing automated controls company wide using
Unitech Systems, Inc. software. While programming for these integrity
control points I gained valuable knowledge in Payroll Accounting,
using QMF/SQL against DB2 tables, and had the opportunity to use
Unitech in EDI transmissions using Gentran and MVS translators.
Created a marketable set of payroll integrity control points for
Unitech Systems, Inc. in which Nabisco receives a 20% royalty
for each package sold. Devised over 75 integrity control points
for Payroll on the newly implemented Tesseract System eliminating
numerous manual balancing issues while enhancing the detail of
management reports. Eliminated over 1,200 yearly General Ledger
Tax reconciliation's by automating the manual process. Implemented
control checks on incoming EDI transmissions in achieving the
perfect customer invoice and thereby reducing paperwork in having
less short-pays, increasing cash flow and improving customer relations.
Established for our Revenue Systems a notification when branch
cash deposits were outstanding or transferred improperly resulting
in positive cash flow. Standardized a set of automated AP controls
used in plant locations easing internal audits and reducing tedious
manual efforts of checks and balances.
Accountant III - East Hanover, NJ (1992 - 1993)
Worked with Senior Executives in providing P&L statements
with graphics for Nabisco's top 30 customers. Designed a product
unsaleable analysis report for over 150 direct store sales teams.
Enhanced management reporting by programming the results to update
into a graphical representation of unsaleable finished product.
Analyzed the fixed assets system proposing a $.9M reduction in
depreciation expense for upcoming budget review.
Accountant II (1991 - 1992)
Responsible for inventory product transfers for Nabisco's 133
operating branches, 11 bakery and distribution centers. Implemented
a "paper less trail" inventory tracking system along
with providing a simplified finished product reconciliation for
branch managers. Conducted and allocated cost accounting entries
for outside purchases of raw materials and finished product. Championed
a steering committee of system applications and end user representatives
developing a strategic plan for streamlining the monthly financial
closing process.
Accountant I (1989 - 1991)
Created a MS Excel template for standardizing the preparation
of General Ledger account reconciliation's. Ensured timely and
accurate completion of financial closings, Inter-Company transfers
and journal entry preparation. Prepared and processed the payment
and filing of personal property and real estate tax forms. Responsible
for coordinating the filing of census forms for over 200 locations
Associate Accountant (1987 - 1989)
Responsible for the tax reporting of all company charitable contributions
Accurately transferred over 150 local bank deposits into corporate
bank accounts and the reconcilement of each account. Created PC
based macros accelerating the cash forecasting figures from all
subsidiary ledgers
