has implementated......
1) Price Change
Controls. (Daily) In depth compare to ensure all price changes
for all items that are sent down from Target host at headquarters
are actually updated on the individual store computers at the
local stores. Historical aging analysis is generated each day
to reflect status of all price changes that have been generated
from the host. There are approximately 1000 stores which process
2 million price changes each day.
2) Price Change
Controls (Weekly) This control will prove that all price changes
sent back from the individual stores are captured on the host
at headquarters and that the price changes are sent to the appropriate
applications for further processing. These applications must match
the original data sent back to the host from the individual stores.
3) DB2 Historical
Receipt Control (Weekly) Target stores all receipts on DB2
tables. Periodically these DB2 tables are unloaded and aged receipts
are stored on DB2 backup files. ACR edits were needed to account
for all receipts. The volume of data processed made the job more
difficult. There were over 250 million records involved in this
weekly control.
4) Sales and Inventory
Trancode Analysis (Daily and Weekly) This control involves
processing 200 million transactions each week that are sent to
the S and I application. Each transaction involves complex, variable
data that effects the units for every item in each Target store.
This data is summarized for each item in complex keys and in depth
reporting is generated weekly. Trending and quota analysis is
generated to report suspect data for management in a variety of
different views.
5) File to file
controls. Several applications needed file to file compares
to ensure that both files contained similar data.
